Disowned for expressing my political beliefs

My brother has threatened to excommunicate me from his wife and my niece and nephew posting about the rise in assaults on POC, women and the LGBTQ community after the election, for participating in protests. He believes I explicitly labeled ALL Trump supporters as racist, misogynists, anti-LGBTQ, anti-female, etc. He warned me to remove everything I have posted and publicly apologize for it or I can never speak to them again.

I never expected this. And I am heartbroken. But, I cannot back down from what I believe in, that what the president-elect represents is a greater threat to this country than any threat my brother could make. I want to make this world a better place for all people.

I want to let everyone out there who is experiencing similar fractures occurring in your family that you’re not alone. And we stand strong together.
